This may slow me down a bit

Well, thanks to getting my hand smashed between two tables at the store, I’m now sporting some new arm bling…

Pretty snazzy, eh?

Of course, even though it happened at work, I still had to wait until after my shift to go get it xrayed. Since it was a weekend, I had to go the emergency room. Had 3 xrays done, then was told swelling was still too bad to get clear shot of some bones, so the dr gave me the arm splint and a sling, some percocet and sent me on my merry way with a referral to an orthopedic dr.

Yes, the dr gave me a narcotic pain pill, then handed me the keys to my car. Think about this for a minute…

The drowsiness effects hit me hard as I neared Disney and the rest is a blur. I remember deciding that, since I had to pick up Rhon in 2 hrs, it might be safer to just wait in the castmember parking lot. A wise choice since I had barely pulled into a parking space when I passed out. I awoke when Rhon got to the car. Nice to know that one can sleep in a car with all the windows down without being disturbed at Disney, eh?

So I’m trying to write but since I can only use my left hand, it’s been slow going. Not to mention the fiberglass part of the splint has reached the itchy-scratchy phase. And my poor puppy is so distraught. She keeps curling up around my arm and trying to kiss my fingers. For two days she’s barely left my side.

I’m hoping I can get in to see the specialist asap and that my hand injury isn’t serious. This one handed hunt & peck is driving me insane.

Oh no! That’s awful. Well, I wish you a speedy recovery/healing.

LOL Actually, I thought the same thing. Too bad there isn’t a mail slot in the door – I could just stick my hand through to hand out candy to trick or treaters.

On the other hand (sorry), you’ve got a great start to a mummy costume!

Ow, your poor little arm! I really hate your job. I’ve said it before and you’ll hear it again. I can’t believe I hate a job that sells BOOKS but there it is.

Hope it’s not broke. Or maybe you can get paid time off? That would be stellar.
