Marvel Releases First Full Trailer for Netflix’s Daredevil Series

Marvel's Daredevil

Today Marvel released the first full trailer for the upcoming series “Marvel’s Daredevil,” which will be released in partnership with Netflix.

The show is based on the character of Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), who was blinded as a boy in a tragic accident and developed extraordinary senses as a result. By day, Matt fights injustice in the courtroom as a respected lawyer, but at night, he protects his home turf, Hell’s Kitchen, New York, as the masked vigilante Daredevil.

The trailer offers a gritty look at the new series, which seems to have a darker tone than typical Marvel film and TV fare. It also features Daredevil in an all-black costume, which is what the character wore in the comics when first starting out. He will eventually transition to the red costume everyone is familiar with, but I like that they’re starting the story a little before that point.

In the trailer, we also catch glimpses of some of the other key players in the story, like Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy (Elden Henson), and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson).

All 13 episodes will drop on Netflix for binge-watching on April 10, 2015. You can already add the show to your list at netflix.com/marvelsdaredevil.

Until then, enjoy this first look at “Marvel’s Daredevil,” and let me know what you think in the comments:
