Due to the news that broke late yesterday about Spider-Man being allowed to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Marvel Studios has also announced new release dates for four previously announced films.
Here are the new dates to pencil into your calendar:
- November 3, 2017 – Thor: Ragnarok
- July 6, 2018 – Black Panther
- November 2, 2018 – Captain Marvel
- July 12, 2019 – Inhumans
My guess this is to allow a wider non-compete berth with the Sony Pictures release of the next Spider-Man movie.
Sony has plans to release the Spidey movie on July 28, 2017, which was the original date for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. Moving Thor to Black Panther’s former date caused a dominoes effect with the other films, as well.
The previously announced dates for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (on May 4, 2018), and Avengers: Infinity War (May 3, 2019), remain unchanged.
