A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

A sequel to Shaun the Sheep Movie, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon starts with an alien crashing onto Farmer John’s Mossy Bottom Farm.

Meanwhile, Shaun and his fellow flock are passing the time by annoying Bitzer the dog, when they discover the pizza they ordered is gone, and they go to investigate.

What they do find is Lu-La, an alien from the planet To-Pa. The cute blue creature begins to mimic the sheep, which they find hilarious. They invite Lu-La to join in their mischief, and it accidentally creates crop circles with the combine harvester.

Taking advantage of the circles and the recent news of alien sightings, Farmer John decides to create an alien-based theme park, “Farmageddon.”

Meanwhile, the crash landing has attracted the attention of the Ministry of Alien Detection’s (M.A.D.) leader, Agent Red, who has been obsessed with proving the existence of aliens since seeing two of them as a child.

Missing home, Lu-La transmits her memories to Shaun who decides to figure out a way to get her back to her parents. Of course, Bitzer realizes something is up and is hot on their trail.

A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon

The movie has a sweet happy ending as all the plot lines wrap up. Kids will enjoy the general silliness, while adults will enjoy a few of the jokes. The nods to Close Encounters of the Third Kind and X-Files were a nice touch, too.

A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon is a cute movie, and the stop-motion clay animation by Aardman Animations is done very well. Your enjoyment of the film will hinge on how amusing you find slapstick humor and silliness.

I’m giving A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
